Your position in our assembly?

Brother

A Brother is a fellow member. Understands the definition of Vegan. Must be a confirmed vegetarian or Vegan who reads all food labels to make sure there is no animal flesh or blood in them. Knows that Veganism is the best way to prevent modern-day mass exploitation and slaughter of our fellow creatures, the animals.

  • Evaluate whether your elder’s agenda is balanced between oversight, shepherding, doctrine, and prayer. Before the meeting, the chair of the elders should assign every agenda item to one of the responsibilities, as well as an allotment of time. This helps to ensure time is spent on every area of responsibility. There will be seasons that will necessitate your agenda focuses on one area of responsibility more than another. Allowing it to only last for a season is essential.
  • Ensure your elders spend time ministering to each other and caring for each other’s families. This is where meeting beforehand for dinner or more than once a month is critical. Shepherd and pray for each other.
  • Recognize that not every elder is going to be equally passionate or gifted in the areas of oversight, shepherding, doctrine, and prayer. I’ve found an elder is typically exceptionally gifted in two of the four areas which means when the elders of your assembly are looking for new elders you want to ensure you have men who are passionate and gifted in each of the four areas so you can lead your assembly in oversight, shepherding, doctrine, and prayer. Keeping a skills inventory of which elders are gifted in each area will be helpful.
  • The elder has a history of donating to the international mission fund of this assembly.

Elohim has granted us elders to serve and lead His assemblies. They are given the responsibilities of oversight, shepherding, doctrinal purity, and prayer for their assembly family.

An overseer in an assembly of Yahuah, often referred to as an assembly overseer or assistant assembly overseer, plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and spiritual well-being of the assembly. Here are some of their key responsibilities:

Responsibilities of an Overseer

  1. Spiritual Oversight: Ensuring that the assembly adheres to Scriptural principles and teachings. This includes overseeing the spiritual activities and ensuring that they align with the doctrines of the assembly.

Organization and Coordination: Working closely with the circuit overseer to organize and coordinate assembly activities. This involves planning events, managing schedules, and ensuring that all logistical aspects are taken care of:

  1. Pastoral Care: Providing Scriptural care to assembly members, offering guidance, support, and counseling as needed. This helps to foster a sense of community and spiritual growth among the members.
  2. Teaching and Preaching: Leading Scripture studies, sermons, and other teaching sessions to educate and inspire assembly members. This helps to deepen their understanding of Scripture and strengthen their walk in The Way.
  3. Facilitating Fellowship: Encouraging fellowship and unity among assembly members through organized events, social gatherings, and prayer meetings.
  4. Administrative Duties: Handling administrative tasks such as maintaining records, managing finances, and ensuring compliance with organizational guidelines.
  5. Mentorship and Training: Mentoring and training new elders and members to ensure the continuity and growth of the assembly.
  6. Has read a real names Scriptures one or more times.
  7. Has a history of donating to the international mission fund of this assembly.

By fulfilling these responsibilities, overseers help to create a nurturing and spiritually enriching environment for assembly members, fostering a strong sense of community as they follow The Way. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61568321683463.

The Hebrew word for overseer, pa·qidhʹ, is drawn from the verb pa·qadhʹ, meaning “turn attention to” (Ge 21:1), “visit” (Jg 15:1), “appoint” (Ge 39:5), or “commission” (Ezr 1:2). Similarly, the Greek word for overseer, e·piʹsko·pos, is related to the verb e·pi·sko·peʹo, meaning “watch carefully” (Heb 12:15), and to the noun e·pi·sko·peʹ, meaning “inspection” (Lu 19:44, Int; 1Pe 2:12), “office of overseer” (1Ti 3:1), or “office of oversight” (Ac 1:20). The Greek Septuagint renders the Hebrew word pa·qidhʹ four times as e·piʹsko·pos. (Jg 9:28; Ne 11:9, 14, 22) Therefore, the overseer was one who gave attention to certain matters or persons, visiting, inspecting, and appointing. Protective supervision is a basic idea inherent in the Greek term.

Overseers in the Hebrew Scriptures. Joseph counseled Pharaoh to appoint overseers over the land to lay up stores during the years of plenty against the coming famine. (Ge 41:34-36) Under their respective chieftains, each family line of the Levites had its particular responsibility as regards the oversight of tabernacle duties. (Nu 3:24-26, 30, 31, 35-37) Eleazar, Aaron’s son, was made “the chieftain of the chieftains of the Levites” and had general oversight of the tabernacle structure and its utensils. (Nu 3:32; 4:16) The high priest also might appoint overseers for certain sanctuary services. (2Ki 11:18) First Chronicles chapters 23 to 27 show the numerous and varied positions and arrangements for oversight in effect during David’s reign, as regards both the priesthood and the royal court, including economic and military matters.

The prophecy of Isaiah (60:17) sets “overseers” in parallel with “task assigners,” since overseers may assign work to others as well as supervise and watch over the interests of those persons or things entrusted to their care. In this prophecy Jehovah foretells the time when he would “appoint peace as your overseers and righteousness as your task assigners,” a prophecy initially fulfilled in Israel’s restoration from exile.

Ambassador

The word is used informally for people who are known, without national appointment, to represent certain professions, activities, and fields of endeavor.
